[PS3] Sony to introduce a PSN pre-loading scheme

Sick of having to wait until release day to download that huge PS3 game you pre-purchased? Do you wish it had a feature like Steam where you could pre-load the game so that you can jump in as soon as it unlocks for launch? If you answered 'yes' to this then you are in luck!

PlayStation 3 users will have access to a pre-load feature that will allow them to download games prior to their unlock date. The first game to make use of this will be the PlayStation Move enabled Sorcery, which releases next week.

Whilst it may seem silly to celebrate this when PC users have been enjoying this for awhile now it definitely signifies a step forward in the digital distribution of console gaming.

A logical step forward.

Logical but it has definitely taken us awhile to get here. Having said that, I'll still be picking up a physical copy of Sorcery.

I'm wondering if they're gonna tie this into Plus. If so then count me out. I prefer to buy the physical copy if available anyway.
