GAME hasn't been able to get a break so far, the latest problem they've faced is the closure of their flagship store on Oxford Street.

It'll be shutting down on the 8th of September, the retailer is chalking the closure up to up to the expiration of the lease. Apparently the store's owner, Lazari GP, had already tried to kick GAME out of their Oxford Street location in May after a hefty dispute over £100,000 of unpaid rent. They also had another customer waiting in the wings.

"Our West End customers can visit our concession in Hamleys on Regent Street, our flagship store in Westfield Stratford, or our websites at http://www.game.co.uk or http://www.gamestation.co.uk. We also have stores in Hammersmith, Surrey Quays, and Westfield White City."

GAME is actively looking for other retail opportunities in the West End, until such a time a majority of the staff have been relocated to other GAME stores across London and the South East.
